Here is Andy Muirhead, HTL Group Scotland’s Account Manager

Meet the People Behind the Business and learn the stories of the amazing individuals behind HTL. We’ve been catching up with Andy Muirhead this month, an Account Manager based out of our Aberdeen facility.

Many of our customers across Scotland will recognise Andy for his friendly, outgoing attitude and his determination to providing solutions to each of his customers. He is a dedicated employee, driven by a can-do attitude and is never phased by project requirements, whatever the industry.

Let’s learn more about him.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

In this role you never know what you’re going to be faced with each day, so I enjoy the variety of work, as every day can be different. I’d have to say that being customer facing is what I enjoy most and problem solving is the next best part of this job.

What makes you smile during the day?

It’s always great to hear good feedback isn’t it, and also see happy customers after I’ve been able to help them.

What advice would you give someone wanting to follow your career path?

It’s the famous ‘Listen and Learn’ and it’s what I would advise from experience. You should never be afraid to ask questions and don’t be scared to start from the bottom and work your way up. Hard work and passion are noticed, and it does pay off.

How has your HTL Career developed so far?

I started as a Sales Engineer at HTL, and I had little experience of Bolting Equipment. I had a previous Technical and Sales background though, and the hands on learning I obtained has given me the skills to progress to an Account Manager for HTL in Scotland.

How do you relax when you’re not working?

I’m an avid gold player, although you wouldn’t think so sometimes, but it’s why I love organising our annual Golf Tournament every year. I also appreciate spending time with the family and keeping fit.

Fun Fact

While I worked as a barman in Aberdeen I would, on a few occasions, end up owing the bar money as I kept dropping bottles during my dodgy juggling act, unfortunately, some smashed! I am now officially retired!
